This sounds like a good idea for people on the go and unable to sit down in front of a computer and leisurely surf their favorite websites.
As for how this can benefit someone who works in a library, it all depends on what their responsibilities are. If they have to order books, I imagine getting RSS feeds on the latest books about specific topics could prove to be helpful.
